10 small and medium-sized businesses donating $10,000 a year for 10 years.
In a nutshell, that is The Million Dollar Pledge where like-minded community leaders strategically invest their time, talent and money to improve the lives of local kids and their families.

“The idea is to solve some of the generational poverty and startling statistics around things that are happening in our community” says Blair Hyslop of Mrs. Dunsters who signed the pledge “it’s new money that we want to invest in the community through and under the direction of the United Way and their process”.
Wendy MacDermott is the Executive Director of the United Way of Saint John, Kings and Charlotte and she tells us they will provide support.
“This is local small and medium sized businesses coming together and creating an investment pool, ” MacDermott says “a group of leaders getting together and learning about the isses we face in Saint John, Kings and Charlotte county area”.
7 businesses have signed on so far including Hemmings House Pictures, InteliSys, Mrs. Dunster’s, Vision Coaching, Spartan Systems, Teed Saudners Doyle and InteliSys so they have 3 spots to fill.
