Seniors groups across the province are not backing down on their concerns, over a plan that would see liquid financial assets used to determine how much seniors pay in nursing care.
They feel they’re being unfairly targeted by the Gallant government.
Executive Director for the Coalition for Seniors Cecile Cassista says many seniors are now leaving New Brunswick, and moving to PEI or Nova Scotia, because they feel the message being sent from the provincial goverment is that they aren’t welcome here anymore.
The Coalition is currently touring the province, with a number of stops still to come including one in Moncton tomorrow morning, and one in Saint John on Saturday.
