There are three from New Brunswick, 13 year old Danielle Dorris, who is a swimmer from Moncton, 24 year old Shayne Dobson, who is a runner from Campbellton and 22 year old Simon Richard, who plays goalball and he is from Dieppe. They’re all competing in the Paraympic Games.

Executive Director of Ability New Brunswick Hayley Flaro explains, “For the Paralympics, generally those competing have one of three types of disabilities. A visual disability, a molity disability or a physical disability.”

The opening ceremonies for the Paralympic games in Rio will be held tomorrow night. The Games will officially wrap up on September 18th.
