Charges Laid After Dozens Of Dogs Seized

Two people have been charged after dozens of dogs were seized in northeastern New Brunswick earlier this year, according to the New Brunswick SPCA.

Eric Couture and Kevin Lockwood face three charges: failing to provide adequate medical care to an animal, willfully failing to provide adequate care to an animal, and confining an animal in unsanitary conditions.

The SPCA said it seized more than 60 dogs from what they describe as an “unlicensed establishment” in Escuminac, east of Miramichi, in April.

Couture and Lockwood are scheduled to appear in a Miramichi courtroom in September.
