Fire destroys home in Quispamsis

The cause of a fire that destroyed a home in Quispamsis is under investigation.

Emergency crews were called to the Kenneth Drive area just after 10 p.m. Monday.

Shawn White, deputy chief of the Kennebecasis Valley Fire Department, said they were met with heavy fire on an exterior wall and through the roof of the home.

White said one person was still inside and was evacuated by firefighters.

The deputy chief said because there were no hydrants in the area, they called in mutual aid assistance from several neighbouring fire departments.

It took crews several hours to bring the fire under control, according to White.

No one was hurt and White said the fire does not appear to have been suspicious.
