Audior General Says Net Debt Still Out Of Hand In New Brunswick

Auditor General Kim MacPherson says that she is encouraged by the province’s first annual surplus in a decade.

But her report released on Wednesday revealed concern over the province’s elevated net debt.

The surplus from 2018 was 67 million dollars, but MacPherson says that surplus is a result of the collection of higher tax revenues and transfers from the federal government and our per capita debt has risen from $10,100 in 2009 to now $18,300.
