Bracing For An Ugly Sunday Storm

It’s time to stock up on storm chips for Sunday.

An intense low-pressure system moving in from the southwest on Sunday night will pass over or near the Bay of Fundy overnight Sunday into early Monday.

Snow will develop ahead of the system and change from freezing rain to ice pellets and rain on Sunday night in southern portions of the province.

There may also be an extended period of freezing rain.

20 centimetres is expected in the far south of the province and up to 50 centimetres across northeastern regions.

Heavy rainfall is possible near the Fundy Coast on Sunday night which may lead to local flooding.
