Lloyd James Bartlett Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Lloyd James Bartlett announces his peaceful passing on December 29, 2025 at his home in Maces Bay.

Lloyd spent 27 years in the Armed Forces. He enjoyed a career in R.C.E.M.E and over the years advanced in his rank to eventually be promoted to Master Warrant Officer before retirement in 1981. Over his career he led his class on different courses he taught in the R.C.M.E school for several years. At one point in his career, he was chosen as one of seven in all of the Armed Forces to go to Australia to check out a new tank that the Armed Forces were considering buying. While posted at Base Gagetown Lloyd and two of his buddies formed a scuba club, they called themselves the “Tankers”, the club is still active today. Lloyd spent a lot of his time teaching new divers and getting together with fellow divers and their families on weekends to go diving. He also dove commercially for the local fisherman in Maces Bay. After his retirement he settled in Maces Bay and built the family home. He built a home for his neighbor and did major renovations on several other homes after that. Lloyd was an avid fly fisherman and fly tier, for years he spent the majority of the spring, summer and fall on the rivers. The Miramichi, Caines, and the Morrell River in P.E.I were his favorite! For several years Lloyd was a N.B guide. He spent a lot of his time at the family camp on Flagler Lake, he tells the story that the first time he went into the camp was when his father took him in as a 5 year old boy. He even spent a week of his honeymoon in the camp. It was always a “must do” trip in the fall to go hunting.

Lloyd is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Sheryl Bartlett (nee Chadwick) his daughter, Cindy March, his son, Stephen Bartlett, his 3 grandchildren, Christopher and Ryan Bartlett (Nancy) and Morgan March (Ryan), his 5 great-grandchildren, Maddyx March, Maycie Patterson, Cassidy, Rylee and Gladys Bartlett.
