Douglas Harold Floyd

January 31, 1953  –  December 28, 2025

Douglas Harold Floyd passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on December 28, 2025, at the age of 72 years. Married on September 6, 1975, he was the husband of Ellen (Trask) Floyd and Father of sons, Ryan Carl and Joel Douglas Floyd.

Born in Saint John on January 31, 1953, he graduated from Saint John Vocational School in 1973 from Machine Shop. He spent 4 years as a carpentry apprentice with Bruce Lawson, before beginning a career with Superior Propane, for 26 years as a gas technician. He then went to Leroy’s Heating as a G1 gas technician where he worked for 16 years. He loved going to the camp on the Washademoak where he enjoyed windsurfing, kayaking, and sailing with friends. He also loved anything having to do with wood, like making a wood pile or turning pieces on his lathe.

Doug will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Ellen, his sons, Ryan and Joel, many good friends as well as his sisters, Marcia and Vicki, and his brothers, Peter and Stephen.

He was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Nancy Floyd.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424). Visitation will be held at Brenan’s Funeral Home on Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 2:00–4:00 PM and 6:00–8:00 PM
