23 Mar 1988 – 08 Jan 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Megan Nadine Jack on Thursday, January 8th, 2026, after a brief illness. Megan was a fun-loving, warm affectionate person who loved everyone she met. Megan’s life journey started in Saint John, NB, on March 23, 1988. Soon after her birth, it was discovered that Megan had a life-threatening heart condition, which was a rough start for her and her family. She was a fighter, though and struggled through many medical procedures, including open heart surgery before her first birthday. Megan’s heart grew stronger than they predicted, allowing her to grow strong and become a funny, outgoing, and happy child. She loved school, especially her teachers and school friends who loved her right back. After graduating from high school, Megan began working at Key Industries, where she loved to hang out with her supervisor, Celina.
Megan did everything with joy and will be remembered for her love of family and friends. Megan loved music and didn’t care that she was not always in tune and on pitch when she sang along for all to hear. Megan loved the summer, especially swimming and spent many summers at Crystal Beach with her family and her Nanny Dugdale (who she always called Babs). She also looked forward to going to Camp Rotary every summer. When Megan was interested in something, she really loved it fully. Megan’s best friend and support worker, Emma Maynard, introduced Megan to hockey. Megan was hooked and gave the Boston Bruins, her favourite team, 100% support, and was their #1 fan. She will be remembered for her smile, laughter and deep affection for family and friends.
She is survived by her Mother, Julie Jack, and Sister, Elisha Boyle (Tosha and daughter Tay), many Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends. Extended family: Nancy, Danielle (Rick), Oliver, Shannon (Miranda) and Robert (Lise). And we cannot forget Megan’s beloved four-legged family member Finn. She was predeceased by her father, Eddie Jack. The family wants to make a special mention of a few of Megan’s good friends: Bonnie and Butch, and also Amdale and Gary were friends and her respite workers, with whom Megan spent many happy hours when she stayed with these wonderful friends; they became part of her family.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, New Brunswick. (506-634-7424) A visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with a service to follow the next day, Saturday, January 17, 2026, in Brenan’s Chapel, starting at 2:00 PM. Donations in memory of Megan may be made to the IWK Children’s Hospital, The SPCA, or Camp Rotary.
