Rhonda Verna Meahan

August 16, 1950 – January 10, 2026

It is with deep love and sadness that the family of Rhonda Verna Meahan, announce her passing on January 10, 2026 peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by her family.

Born and raised in Saint John, Rhonda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was predeceased by her parents Ronald and Verna Parlee and the love of her life, her husband Ron Meahan. Their bond was one of true love and devotion that remained close to her heart throughout her life. The family finds peace knowing she has been reunited with Ron, together again after so many years apart.

She leaves behind her loving children; Rhonda Ryan (Craig Ryan), Michelle Meahan (Brad Barry), and Knoll Meahan (Denise Meahan)

Rhonda’s greatest joy in life was her grandchildren; Craig-Evan Ryan, Emily Meade, Kaleb Meahan, Ainsley Meahan, Brad Meade, Cody Meade and great-grandchildren; Rowan, Jack and Maddie Meade. Known proudly as “Nana” she rarely missed a sporting event and was incredibly proud of each grandchild’s educational and professional accomplishments. Nana could always be found in the front row, with a huge smile on her face, cheering louder than anyone and supporting them with endless love.

She cherished time at her trailer at Harding’s Point Campground, and going boating on the “Rockin’ Rhonda” and the “Disco Too”. These moments, surrounded by family, laughter, and the outdoors, were where she felt most at peace.

Rhonda spent many years as a teacher, a profession she enjoyed immensely. She will be remembered for her warmth, her love of family, and the way she made everyone feel welcome and cared for.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and nurses of the Surgical Medical Intensive Care Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Your compassion and care during this time will never be forgotten.

Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424). A Funeral service will be held at Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, January 14th 2026, at 1:00 PM with a reception to follow at Brenan’s.

Donations in Rhonda’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
