April 2, 1940 – January 30, 2026
With heavy hearts, the family of Edna “Eddie” Louise Anderson announce her passing, surrounded by her loving daughters, on January 30, 2026, at Rocmaura Nursing Home. Born on April 2, 1940, in Digby, NS. She was the devoted wife of 57 years to the late Clinton Anderson.
Edna moved to NB and became a hair dresser for many years. She then became a homemaker and an avid volunteer with The Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, The Women’s Institute, Home & School, elementary school hot lunch program where the students lovingly referred to her as “the hotdog lady” as she made the very best.
Edna was an animal lover, she enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, a good “trashy magazine”, gardening, she loved walking and just being outdoors. Edna spent a lot of time at many ball fields all over NB with her husband known to many as “Skin”. Edna adored her 2 grandsons, Nick and Jude, she had a very special bond with each of them. Edna loved to laugh, and she had a wonderful, sassy, spunky, sarcastic sense of humor. She didn’t take life too seriously and didn’t need or want for anything. She was always “fine”, right up till the end, she never complained. Edna saw the good in everyone, she loved a full house, juicy gossip and her kitchen table, she solved a lot of problems from that kitchen table.
Edna is survived by her 2 daughters, Diane (Jamie) Kirkpatrick, Jill (Shawn) Ingersoll; her sister, Jean Cormack; grandchildren, Nick Kirkpatrick (Mae Calimoso), Jude Patterson (Taylor Richards), and Sophie Ingersoll.
Jude’s father, Scott Patterson (Stephanie Fowlow). As well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Edna was predeceased by her parents, Darrel Lewis and Catherine (nee Melanson); 3 brothers, Carl, Earl, and Hugh.
Edna’s family would like to thank Sarah Draper and Kaitlyn Wasson, you are earth angels, and the rest of the recreation team at Rocmaura for breathing life back into our mom in the last year of her life. She made friends and had a community that loved her and treated her as their own. Special thank you to the nursing staff on Trinity Court.
