April 6, 1942 – February 1, 2026
Norma Elizabeth McCutcheon was many things to many people, but above all she was a steady, loving presence — someone who showed her care not through grand gestures, but through constant, quiet support.
She was always worried, always checking in, always making sure everyone else was okay. There was almost always food ready and a sense that you were welcome exactly as you were. Norma was honest — sometimes gently, sometimes directly — but always from a place of care. You always knew where you stood with her, and that honesty was one of the many ways she showed her love.
Whether she was crocheting, baking, or decorating her home, she poured herself into making things beautiful and comforting for the people around her. These weren’t just hobbies — they were expressions of who she was: thoughtful, capable, and always thinking of others.
Her favourite place in the world was wherever her family was. Being together mattered to her more than anything, and she supported each of us in whatever way she could — quietly, consistently, and without hesitation. She didn’t need recognition for it. She simply showed up.
Norma lived a life marked by resilience and strength, though it was never loud or showy. She faced many challenges throughout her life, yet she carried herself with kindness and grace.
Norma is survived by her three sons: Fred (Heather) Henderson of Maces Bay, Willard (Patti) Henderson of Saint John, and Hartley (Lue) McCutcheon of Grand Bay–Westfield; her daughter, Tina (Cass) Moon of Brandon, Manitoba; her brother, Frank (Nelena) Donovan, Saint John; her two sisters, Joan (Dan) Dunham of Chipman and Marg (Bruce) Smith of Vineland, Ontario; and her sister-in-law, Glenora Donovan. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren: Tiffany, Holly, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Elijah, Bailey, Frances, and Dylan, along with five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Francis and Irene Donovan; her brothers, Bill Donovan and twin Norman “Butch” Donovan; and her half-brother, Fred Masson.
She leaves behind a legacy of care, creativity, and unwavering love.
