May 3, 1975 – February 5, 2026
It is with great sadness that the family of Josephine Martina Paulin of Saint John, announce her untimely passing, which occurred on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on May 3, 1975 in Toronto, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Lillian (Stubbard) Paulin.
Josie always held a special place in her heart for her animal companions and especially enjoyed training her dogs, Vesta, Maggie and Bear. She was a fierce advocate for individuals with disabilities and created the platform “Breaking Bearriers” to share her journey training Bear and the challenges people face with obtaining service dogs in New Brunswick.
Despite the health complications she faced in her life, she never let them stop her from doing the things that she enjoyed the most and spending time with the people she loved. At home, Josie enjoyed tending to her garden, bird watching and was an avid cook and baker, especially around the holiday season. She will be remembered for her strength, resilience, adventurous spirit and her willingness to try anything.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Josie will be lovingly remembered by her boyfriend, Cory Dennison; her daughter, Samantha; and children, Tessa, Patrick, Jillian and MacKenzie.
In keeping with Josie’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. There will be a private celebration of life arranged by her family to be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424).
For those who wish, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
