U de M honouring International student who died unexpectedly

Université de Moncton students and faculty are mourning the death of an international student.

Flags at all three campuses are flying at half mast from March 3 through dusk on March 5.

They’re honouring Hanane Bouchemal, who was an Algerian student who died suddenly during childbirth last month.

She leaves behind her husband, Hamaoui Goudi and two children, including a newborn.

Bouchemal was enrolled in the Master of Arts Sociolinguistics program at the Moncton campus.

Counselling is available for staff, students and faculty who need it.
