First, I want to say that we would LOVE to have a student from Harbour View High School be willing to share the latest news happening at the school with us here at yoursaintjohn.ca. (Same for other high schools!) If you are interested, reach out – send us an email at info@yoursaintjohn.ca.
Here are some of the latest happenings that I managed to “scoop” from their Facebook page. Congrats all around!

Huge congratulations to Gavin Steeves, one of the first spring scholarship recipients! SRC President and HV athlete, Gavin has earned the prestigious Francis M. McLaughlin Scholarship at St. Thomas University. Everyone is incredibly proud of you!

A huge shoutout to Viking Class of 2026 student Charlotte Colpitts for securing $28,000 in scholarships to attend St. Thomas University—well done!
Harbour View High School was pleased to welcome the Health Canada Experiences “Know More About Opioids” presentation to the school. Students participated in an interactive, gallery-style experience that built awareness around opioids, their effects on the body, the risks of misuse, and how to recognize and respond to an overdose.
The session highlighted the ongoing importance of opioid education in Canada and explored key topics such as opioids and fentanyl, overdose warning signs, the role of naloxone, and the impact of stigma. We appreciate Health Canada Experiences for providing our students with a safe, informative, and engaging learning opportunity.
Go Vikings! Keep the energy high as spring sports kick off!
