Bonnie Lynne Bent

May 19, 1950  –  April 7, 2026

Bonnie Bent (Wood) née Walker

Bonnie Bent was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, sister and friend. She was a vibrant, sociable woman right from the start, even learning to ride a motorcycle at only 15, which was how she met Blaine.

Bonnie worked hard her whole life; she worked alongside Blaine at the clam factory, as a waitress in a nursing home, and at a salmon plant, but her favourite job was when she was asked to take care of two of her grandchildren, Sam and Johanna.

Bonnie built a life based on her love with her first husband, Blaine Wood in New Brunswick, where despite hardships she thrived, and made countless friends. She bravely achieved her GED and went back to school to get a certificate in refrigeration which she was licenced for. She would drop anything if someone needed her and help.

She had a great love of art; she enjoyed creating and socializing with the Fundy Bay 50 Plus Club, especially with her good friend Joey Baird. Bonnie was known to make many beautiful pieces, specifically handmade crochet blankets that she gifted to family and friends which they treasured.

Despite being widowed young, Bonnie was resilient, hardworking and cared deeply for her community. She found love again and remarried her dear friend Don Bent, who predeceased her by only 2 months. They had 15 wonderful years together. Bonnie and Don enjoyed travelling, going on cruises and visiting family in Ontario. She survived cancer, and the loss of her two sisters, Debbie and Robin, her sister-in-law Janice, brother-in-law Gary and her beloved Mother Shirley.

Bonnie will be dearly missed by her sons; Barry Wood (Emily Venart-Wood) of Chance Harbour, Steven (Cathy) Bent, of Pocologan, Michael (Wanda Scott) Bent, of Pocologan, and Ross (Rachel) Bent, of Lepreau, one daughter; Terry-Lynn Bent, of Pocologan, brothers Michael Walker of Corunna, ON and Gordon (Kim) of Bowmanville, ON, sister Sheilagh (Ken) of London, ON, eleven grandchildren; Samuel Venart – Wood, and Johanna Venart – Wood , Ashley Bent, Jordan Bent, Joshua Dorie, Jacob Bent, Jessica Bent, Kyle Bent, Alex Bent, Emily Valera, and Haley Valera, eleven great grandchildren; Jack, Sydney, Maverick, Charlie, Victor, Pruitt, Mya, Aubrey, William, Austin, and Alex, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Special thank you to Steven, Mike, and Gordon for being there during this difficult year, we greatly appreciate it.
