December 24, 1926 – April 24, 2026
The family of Esther Marion Kristiansen (nee French), known to all as Marion, announce her peaceful passing, on April 24, 2026, at Maple Ridge Nursing Home in Oromocto, NB. Born December 24, 1926, in Ancaster, Ontario, Marion was raised by the family that chose her, Joseph and Harriet Bensett.
Before moving to Maple Ridge Nursing Home she lived several years at Paradise Villa in Fredericton, NB. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the love and care Marion received.
She retired from Fundy Line Motel in Saint John where she worked as a night auditor for many years. She had many hobbies such as knitting, ceramics, and cross stitch to name a few. She also loved to read, do puzzles, enjoyed dancing and participated in the walk for Alzheimer’s annually until 2025.
Marion is survived by her children, Rene Thorneycroft- Small, David Thorneycroft, Rosemary Wright (Greg), Karen Malatesta, Joseph Kristiansen (Iliana), Karla Sheffroth (Gord); along with 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 7 great great-grandchildren.
Marion was predeceased by her sons, Raymond, Ron, Paul, and Ken Thorneycroft.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424). A visitation with family will be held Saturday, July 25th at 1 PM with a Celebration of Life to follow in Brenan’s Chapel at 2:00 PM. A reception will take place following the service in Brenan’s Reception Center.
