Joseph Aldoria Gionet

March 19, 1936 ~ April 21, 2026 (age 90)

It is with appreciation for a life well lived that the family announces the passing of Joseph Aldoria Gionet on April 21, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born on March 19, 1936, he was the son of the late Ernest and Madeleine (Gallant) Gionet.

Joseph was never one to stay cooped up for long—he felt most at home out in the woods, taking in the fresh air and finding any excuse to be outside. When he wasn’t wandering through the trees, he was usually in his workshop, building something with his hands, whether it was a full set of cabinets or a simple little trinket tray. He had a natural knack for making things—and just as importantly, for making people smile. A true jokester at heart, Joseph loved getting a laugh and was happiest when everyone around him was enjoying themselves. But above all else, he was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather who cherished his family deeply. And at the center of it all was his wife Cecelia—his greatest love. The two of them were rarely apart, and anyone who knew them knew they simply went hand in hand.

Besides the love of his life for 64 years, Cecelia, Joseph is survived by his daughter Bonnie Gionet (Dale); 5 granddaughters, and several great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, his son Thomas (Tommy) Gionet, and all his siblings.

Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home. In keeping with Joseph’s wishes, no formal services will be held. For those who wish, donations in Joseph’s memory to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by family.
