It is with great sadness, the family announces the passing of Reginald Thomas Higgins, which occurred on Tuesday, April 28th, 2026, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on September 10th, 1931, in Saint John, in his 95th year, he is the son of the late George and Lillian (Plint) Higgins. Reg worked as a Police Officer in Saint John for 4 years and in Toronto for 23 years, as well as Toronto Harbour Police detachment, and he was Chief of Security at Harbourfront in Toronto. Upon retirement, he decided to take on a part time security role at the Rogers Centre, home of the Toronto Blue Jays. The Blue Jays were a team he followed and was a great fan of. Reg enjoyed listening to music, crossing many genres, playing his saxophone, cycling and he enjoyed the outdoors.
Reg is survived by his son Michael Higgins (Arlene) of London, ON; grandson Kyle Higgins (Lisa) and great grandchildren Carter and Claire. Along with his parents, Reg was predeceased by his loving wife Wilhelmina (Truffen) and son Matthew.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). As per Reg’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
