Olive Lois White

December 12, 1937  –  April 28, 2026

It is with a heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Lois White on Tuesday, April 28th 2026 at the age of 88. Lovingly remembered by her devoted husband Calvin; her loving children: Lynn White, Kevin (Bonnie) White, Kelly (Rick) Wear and Lori (Bob) Gillies; beloved grandchildren: Kelsie (Patrick Morehouse) Wear, CJ White, Jack (Sophie Haverstock) Gillies, Anna Gillies and Rachel Gillies; cherished great granddaughter, Oaklee Morehouse; dear sister: Ann (Fred) Healey; sister-in-law: Nancy (late John) Dann and many nieces and nephews.

Mom was predeceased by her parents: Helen Ione Scribner and Charles Foster Goldsmith Scribner; brothers and their wives; Harold (Sharon) Scribner and Lawrence (Joyce) Scribner; brother-in-law: Malcolm (late Dot) White.

Mom grew up in Kingston, NB and graduated from MacDonald Consolidated School. Her adult life was spent in Saint John, mostly in the North End. With short stints at Exhibition Park Raceway, NBTel and Dominion Stores, most of her career was spent at Sears Canada. Her door was open to everyone. Our friends, co-workers, in-laws and strangers have all been welcomed into her home. Many times we have had extras at the table especially for special occasions like Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. She would never want anyone to be alone. Mom had suffered many losses, trials, tribulations and health issues yet she soldiered on. She was a rock for her children, siblings and anyone who needed help. Nothing made her happier than having everyone together. She gave with all her heart and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Mom and Dad were married for 69 years and truly lived their wedding vows.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. David Gaudet and his receptionist, Marilyn, for going the extra mile. Also, Dr. Christian Mackin and the staff of Bobby’s Hospice for their compassion and wonderful care.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424) where Visitation will take place on Monday, May 4th from 9:00 to 11:00 am. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Luke’s Church, 369 Main St. at 12:00 pm.
