May 22, 1957 – May 1, 2026
It is with great sadness that the family of Darlene Mary Clayton announce her passing on May 1, 2026 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in West Saint John on May 22, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Robert Edward and Helen (Hogan) Taylor.
Darlene is survived by her husband Rodney, daughter Jenna McBriarty (Zack), son Daniel (Victoria) and cherished grandsons Callum and Logan McBriarty.
Darlene will also be missed by several in-laws, cousins and many friends.
Darlene was a proud graduate of Saint Vincent’s High School (1975) and attended UNB Fredericton. She has remained close with her “hot 57” UNB, high-school and childhood friends.
Darlene loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed a cup of tea with milk and a sweet treat, a good chat, getting her hair done, bird watching out the kitchen window, and watching her grandsons play.
She was a selfless, kind, considerate and supportive person who would always put others’ well-being before her own.
In addition to her parents Darlene was also predeceased by her sister Frances Taylor. Darlene and Fran had a special relationship, and her family takes great comfort in knowing they are together again.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, on Friday, May 8, at 10:00 AM, where Darlene was a lifelong member. Reception to follow at Castle Fallsview Funeral Home. Interment will take place St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Darlene’s memory can be made to Bobby’s Hospice or a charity of the donor’s choice.
