James Arthur McCarron Obituary
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of James Arthur McCarron peacefully at home on May 6, 2026. Jim was loved by partner Elaine Laughlin and loving father to Lori (Sean) Irish and Linda McCarron. Cherished grandfather of Michael Duff, Corey Duff, Nicole Duff (Geoffrey Zed), Katelyn (Colton) Walker and Kyle Irish. Much loved brother of Bob (Merilyn) McCarron and Joan (Nick) Kodric. Predeceased by son Ronnie McCarron, parents Arthur and Dorothy McCarron, wife Elsie McCarron and sister Dorothy McGuire. He will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews and cherished friends.
Jim was a graduate of St Francis Xavier University. He was employed with NBTel for 36 years. He is a past president of the Simonds Lions. He was one of the founding members and first chairman of the Board of Directors for the Loch Lomond Villa. Jim had a passion for music. He spent many years playing with the Banjo Barons.
Jim selflessly gave his time to support his family. He filled our lives with music and celebration. On every occasion a banjo could be heard. Jim will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humour and steady optimism. We will miss him dearly.
