It is with great sadness that the family of Eleanor Anne Marie Beddow-East announces her passing which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. Born February 18, 1945, in Saint John, NB, she was a daughter of the late Larry and Annie McGaghey.
Eleanor leaves behind her children, Walter Beddow (Tobi), Aaron Beddow (Cheryl), Christine Brigley, Jacqueline Duplessis (Paul), Blaine Beddow (Tanya); siblings, Peter Connelly (Gloria), Doris Bailey (Kenny), Evelyn Long, Esther Dupuis (Donnie), Shirley Robichaud (David); sisters-in-law, Theresa Connelly, Jeannie Driscoll; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Linda Lewis; siblings, Bill Connelly, Frankie Connelly, Ronnie Connelly, Theresa Doyle, Betty Cook; son-in-law, Eldon Brigley; brothers-in-law, Elbert Long, Harold Doyle, Donnie Cook; sister-in-law, Bunny Connelly.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424). With visitation on Monday, June 15, 2026, from 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will take place from the Brenan’s Chapel on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Donations in memory of Eleanor may be made to the Bobby’s Hospice, and the SJRH Nursing Unit.
