J. Gordon Anderson

August 8, 1945 ~ June 11, 2026 (age 80)

J. Gordon Anderson, age 80, of Saint John New Brunswick, passed away peacefully on June 11th, 2026 surrounded by his family. Dying, it’s not his favorite. No, his favorite was his family and friends. Gord was born August 8, 1945 in Saint John, the son of the late Elmer “Andy” and Margaret (Perry) Anderson. Gordon took great pride in kids, grandkids, photography, art and more recently his fish tank. He was known for his humour, generosity, and family dinners.

He spent many years working in the grocery business. Managing Dominion and Sobeys stores, opening his own convenience stores in Quispam, working the Cash and Carry and later Merchandising for Willett Foods. Gord then spent his pre-retirement years at Investors Group. Outside of work, he was passionate about photography, music and the Arts. Volunteering time at the Saint John Arts Centre. And even having his own photography shows.

He is lovingly survived by his children, Shane (Lisa) Anderson, Sara Love, Amy (Darren) McNamee, Astrid (Malcolm) Lloyd, his grandchildren, Jordan and Austen Anderson, Lauren Caines and Hayden McNamee, Sadie and Nora Love, Diego Savoie, great grand kids, Jack and Camryn, his sister Margot Kippen and his many close friends that he considered family.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr P. Maloney, Dr S. Gray, Dr Wildish and the nursing staff at SJRH and Extra Mural for their compassion and care.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved. Ta da!

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd, Saint John, NB, E2J 2G3;(506) 646-2424; Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, from 12pm to 2pm.
