A settlement related to the Point Lepreau refurbishment and an insurance policy may result in a win for NB Power ratepayers.
The company’s president Gaetan Thomas describes it a great day for New Brunswick adding the settlement allows the utility to seek a lower rate increase during the current hearing.
The utility’s board of directors has asked management to seek permission from the Energy and Utilities Board to adjourn the current hearing to figure out the implications of the settlement on the application.
It’s now expected the overall rate increase will be lower that the original request of 2 per cent.
