A Takedown On Rothesay Avenue and Stealing Mom’s Wheels While Under House Arrest

When you find yourself under house arrest, taking your mom’s car may not be the best move.

City police came to find out this had occurred after responding to a call about a man who had passed out on Prince Edward Street.

The 30-year-old who is currently under house arrest was also found to have a set of car keys on him.

At the same time, officers got a call from his mother saying her car was taken without her permission and involved in a collision.

The man involved is due before a judge on charges of violating his house arrest and theft of a motor vehicle.

Just before 9 o’clock last night, police responded to a call about a man who jumped out of a taxi without paying near the Park Plaza Motel on Rothesay Avenue.

The man was scaling a 10-foot fence when he was told to stop and that he was under arrest.

After falling from the top of the fence, he slowly began to run away but realized he was trapped inside a compound.

He was eventually tackled in the middle of the Rothesay Avenue. It turns out the 21-year-old man was wanted by the Mounties.

He is due before a judge for charges including fraud and mischief under $5000.
