Saint John Council Wants To Make It Clear Where Pot Will Be Sold, Produced And Processed

With recreational pot set to become legal this year, Saint John wants to spell out where it can be sold, produced and processed.

The proposed bylaw amendments passed first and second reading this week, with third reading expected April 23rd.

“We are spending a lot of time effort and expense in just preparing and potentially while likely creating an expense for at least our police or other law enforcement agencies in the city,” says Sullivan.

The city wants retail stores to be at least 300 metres from schools and at least 1,000 metres from each other.
