It’s a stronger message from Saint John EMO today for folks living along the Westfield Road to evacuate for their own safety.
A one-way evacuation train provided by NB Southern railway is making four stops along the Westfield road heading into the city.
Those folks will be brought to the reception centre at the Carleton community centre.

Saint John EMO Director Kevin Clifford tells us as things keeping getting worse people will start to say we’ve had enough.
“This is four days in, five days in, so we feel that there’s going to be substantial uptake on that evacuation sometime today and into tomorrow, so we’re anticipating a greater uptake,” says Clifford.
“It’s a strongly recommended evacuation.”
As of Thursday afternoon, 116 people have registered with the Canadian Red Cross as evacuees.
Water levels are at 5.3 metres in the Saint John area and expected to reach an unprecedented 6.0 metres by Monday.
