Cooke Aquaculture has a number of volunteers in the greater Saint John area helping out with the flooding.
The company has provided 103,000 sandbags so far for several communities and now has six boats on the water helping with any necessary evacuations.
Spokesperson Joel Richardson says they’re seeing a lot of damage from this flood.
“I think we can’t forget that people right from Fredericton all the way to Saint John are dealing with this and struggling with this,” says Richardson. “There’s a lot up in the Washademoak [Lake] area, people in the Belleisle, KV, that have literally had their houses destroyed.”
Richardson says they’ll have personnel and the boats here for the duration of the flooding or until they’re told by the various fire chiefs they’re no longer needed.
