Cannabis And Big Data Tackled At World Cannabis Congress

The emerging Cannabis industry in Canada and in 60 other countries around the world looking to decriminalize or legalize it means data must be compiled.

The keynote speaker to start day two of the World Cannabis Congress in Saint John was Giadha Aguirre De Carcer, founder and CEO of New Frontier Data.

She told the crowd that data shows things are changing in North America when it comes to cannabis consumption.

“In the past four years alone we have seen quite the evolution of consumer behaviour. Today, at least in North America men still drive consumption but female consumption is now at almost double the rate of the males,” she stated.

Her report also showed cannabis contamination is a big concern in the industry with a report finding in Californa 84 percent of the product tested was found to have some kind of pesticide contamination.

The report also found in Canada males prefer to consume cannabis in joints or blunts, while women go the vapes and edibles route.
