Provincial seniors and long-term care minister Lisa Harris says one component is called Community Check-In where volunteers will pair up with seniors.
“Just an opportunity for seniors who may be living in isolation to have that continuity of somebody calling in to check and see how they’re doing,” she notes.
With help from the Canadian Red Cross, the Community Check-In program is now available in Moncton, Saint John, Miramichi and Campbellton and will be rolled out across New Brunswick.
