Boy Struck By Vehicle In Rothesay

A 15-year-old boy was taken to hospital after police say he was hit by a vehicle while riding his bicycle in Rothesay.

Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Hampton Road and Sierra Avenue around 9:40 p.m. Wednesday.

Cpl. Krystal Daley of the Kennebecasis Regional Police Force told our newsroom the victim was conscious and speaking to first responders.

“I’m not sure the extent of his injuries … but I think he’s going to be okay,” said Daley at the scene.

Daley said the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and assisted the victim until help arrived.

There is no word yet if charges will be laid.

Hampton Road was down to one lane for about half an hour.
