At the World Junior Hockey Championship, Canada got by the Czech Republic 5-3 with Sea Dog Thomas Chabot the star of the game, scoring a key goal in the second period that gave Canada the lead. Canada will now face tournament favourite Sweden in one semifinal tomorrow night at the Bell Centre. The winner will face either the U.S. or Russia for the gold medal Thursday night. The Swedes beat Slovakia 8-3…..The U.S. edged Switzerland 3-2 while Russia blanked Denmark 4-0. Finland downed Latvia 2-1.
