New Brunswick is becoming a lot more colourful this summer as more rainbow crosswalks appear in communities both large and small.
In June, Moncton partnered with the River of Pride Committee to paint ten colourful crosswalks along Main Street to show acceptance of the LGBTQ community.
Earlier this month, the Village of Cap-Pele issued a challenge to seven other communities in the region to paint rainbow crosswalks and all of them accepted.
Rainbows are now found in Shediac, Bouctouche, Rogersville, St Louis-de-Kent, Rogersville and Memramcook.
The Village of Saint-Antoine became the latest to paint the symbol of diversity, inclusion and equality for everyone on a crosswalk with supplies donated by the City of Moncton.
When a rainbow crosswalk was defaced in Woodstock recently, the town held a rally in support of the crosswalk and it was re-painted.
A $1,000 dollar reward was offered for information leading to an arrest.
