Calvin Ross of Fredericton has a seven shot lead at the Canadian Junior Golf Championship heading into the final round in Kingston, Ontario. He shot an 8 under par 62 in the third round with six birdies and an eagle.

Cleveland’s pitching staff has taken a couple of big hits with All-Star reliever Andrew Miller being placed on the disabled list and starter Josh Tomlin will be out of the lineup for six weeks. Cleveland leads the American League Central Division by 2 and a half games over Kansas City.
In New Brunswick Junior Baseball, the Saint John Alpines lost to Chatham 7-2. Their best of three quarter final is tied at one game each with the decider tomorrow night in Chatham. There’s senior baseball tonight at Memorial Field with the Alpines taking on the Fredericton Royals in a 7:30 start.
Saint John Sea Dogs forward Joe Veleno and Anderson MacDonald of Quispamsis have been named to Team Canada’s National Men’s Summer Under-18 Team for the 2017 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup. MacDonald played for the Saint John Vitos and is now with Sherbrooke in the “Q”.
