The Saint John Integrated Street Crime Unit has executed search warrants at six marijuana dispensaries in the city.
Arrests have been made and more details are expected later today.
Locations include Medical Grounds on Prince William and Rothesay Avenue, BLW on Simpson Drive, King Canna on Germain and HBB Medical on Rothesay Road and Chesley Drive.
In a statment Police Chief John Bates says the search warrants should not come as a surprise to anyone because the dispensaries were operating outside of the law.
The Integrated Street Crime Unit consists of Police from Saint John, Kennebecasis Valley and the RCMP.
