Norman “Floored” To Hear About NB Country Music Hall Of Fame Induction

The St. Stephen High School will be hosting the New Brunswick Country Music Hall of Fame this fall. The Board of Directors announcing the 2017 St Stephen Gala will be held October 14th — and musician Claudette Norman is one of the few who have been chosen to be inducted. Norman tells us about when she found out she’d been chosen, “I was sitting in my chair in my livingroom, watching tv, and I got a call from Ivan Hicks, the President of the New Brunswick Country Music Hall of Fame. He told me I’d been selected, and I was totally floored. I knew I had been nominated, but I just, I wasn’t expecting it. When Charlie (Norman’s husband) passed me the phone I thought, ‘Oh, somebody’s looking for me to sing somewhere,’ you know, that’s kinda what I expected to hear. So when he said it was Ivan Hicks, I kinda had a clue then.” Norman began her career at the age of 12 when she learned to play the guitar. Since then, she has released six cds over more than four decades, and has been involved with countless benefits and charity events. Other New Brunswickers who are being inducted include Edgar Barry, Bill Casey, Adam Olmstead, and Randy Russell.
