Big bucks for the Greater Saint John Field House Project.
The Best Western, the Delta and the Hilton are all kicking in $10,000 each and the Saint John Hotel Association is matching that for a contribution of $60,000.
Project Leader Bill MacMackin says these donations reinforce this facility’s potential to attract sporting events and its value to the hotel industry.
The project will feature two turf pitches for field sports, a running track and multipurpose space for the community to use.
The latest donations increase the community commitment helping push the project to a total of over $23 million.
Preliminary work is expected to start before the end of the year and be open for use in the fall of 2019.
