Chiropractor Says “Text Neck” Can Be Avoided

Chiropractors are seeing more patients suffering from so-called “text neck” these days.

The ailment can develop if your head dangles forward while using mobile devices for extended periods of time.

Dr. Ryan Coster who operates the Chiro Clinic Moncton says he uses technology every day as part of his practice and he urges patients to use mobile devices in a more user-friendly way.

“Making sure that the device is either held up nicely in front of their head for example or they are putting it on some kind of structure where the device can actually be held up, ” he notes.

To help prevent the onset of “text neck”, Dr. Coster also suggests using your mobile phone by holding it in front of you in the same way you would take a video of someone.
