Prime Minister Admits Canada Has Failed

Prime Minister Trudeau says he welcomes tough questions at his town hall meetings and he got some in Saskatoon about indigenous issues.

Saskatoon Tribal Council Chief Felix Thomas was critical of what he called the “disconnect” between Trudeau’s words and his government’s actions.

The Prime Minister made an admission that Canada has not lived up to the spirit and intent of the original treaty relationships.[

Trudeau adds his government has accelerated the process to resolve outstanding land claims but there’s still a lot of work to do and a lot to fix that’s wrong.

Chief Thomas says they’ve had meetings with federal ministers which have lasted all of five minutes and that doesn’t cut it.
