Book Of Condolences Set Up For Fallen Mountie

Flags on all RCMP buildings across Canada are being flown at half-mast following the death of Constable Francis Deschênes.

Several RCMP locations across New Brunswick have set up books of condolence so residents can pay their respects and leave messages for the family.

Mounties say 35-year-old Deschenes, who was based in Amherst, was killed when he stopped to help a driver change a tire on the Trans Canada Highway near Memramcook this week.

Condolence books have been set up in Moncton at the Codiac detachment while others are in Fredericton, Oromocto, Bathurst and Sackville.

If unable to visit those locations, you can send messages of condolence by email, RCMP.Condolences-Condoleances.GRC@rcmp-grc.gc.ca
