The proposal for an LNG terminal in Maine on Passamaquoddy Bay that caused an uproar several years ago has bitten the dust.
The U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has terminated Downeast LNG’s application for such a terminal and pipeline facilities.
The Commission concluded there has been essentially no progress at all toward completing an application in the past nine months and Downeast has presented nothing to indicate any change will likely happen in the immediate future.
Downeast LNG can submit another application in the future if circumstances change.
