The Nature Conservancy of Canada says a number of species are still on the worlds endangered list including some in our province.
The Piping Plover is just one of the species at risk but the Conservancy has been doing a great deal of work with its Richibucto Dunes project to ensure the shorebirds have a place to thrive.
NCC’s Andrew Holland says a number of species of Ash Trees are in big trouble thanks to the Emerald Ash Borer, a nasty beetle that enjoys munching on Ash trees, in fact it has wiped out entire stands of the trees in several provinces and 21 of the states in America.
Holland says the White Ash species is very important to the economy because it is used in everything from making furniture, to baseball bats and even hockey sticks.
