New Brunswickers Urged To Celebrate Nutrition Month

The theme for Nutrition Month this year is “taking the fight out of food.”

Dietitians of Canada spokesperson Kara Parsons says they are encouraging people to follow three steps to make healthy food decisions.

People should find out what is causing their problem with eating healthy, then get the facts from credible sources and ask for help putting the plan in action.

Parsons says with so much information available at our fingertips, it is very easy to be misinformed.

New Brunswick Health Minister Victor Boudreau says healthy eating is a key component of overall wellness and good nutrition helps protect against chronic disease such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, obesity, stroke and high blood pressure.

Dietitians of Canada has designed two free apps to help New Brunswickers, Cookspiration, and eaTracker.
