A Packed Station As The Dogs Finish The Regular Season Strong

Make it 7 straight wins for the Saint John Sea Dogs. Before another sell out crowd, the Dogs scored four times in the second period and went on to beat the Halifax Mooseheads 5-3 at Harbour Station.

Spencer Smallman scored the eventual game-winner in the final regular season home game of his Q league career. Cole Reginato, Samuel Dove-McFalls, Joe Veleno and Thomas Chabot also found the net.
With the loss, Halifax is on a 7-game skid.

In the NHL, the Leafs got by the Canes 3-2 in OT, the Flames blanked the Jets 3-zip, The Pens shutout also the Canucks 3-zip, The Sens doubled the Aves 4-2, the Bruins snuck by the Flyers 2-1, the Blues edged the NY Islanders 4-3 and Buffalo over Columbus 5-3, in the Battle of Florida, Tampa Bay beat Florida 3-2 and the Devils over the Coyotes 5-4. The Kings doubled the Caps 4-2. The Leafs are now 2nd in the wild card race behind the New York Rangers.

At the Brier in St. John’s, Canada’s Kevin Koe rink defeated Manitoba’s Mike McEwen rink 7-6. Koe advances to meet the Brad Gushue rink of Newfoundland and Labrador in the Gold medal game tonight. Northern Ontario and Manitoba compete for bronze this afternoon.

In the NBA, the Heat downed the Rapters 104-89, the Suns over the Mavs 100-98 and Washington got by Portland 125-124 in overtime.
