The Children’s Miracle Network at the IWK Hospital is going to benefit from a gaming competition being held in Orlando, Florida, and a Miramichi man is there to ensure he raises as much money as he can.
It’s a part of the Extra Life United 2017 gaming competition. Kris Jardine is the only maritimer taking part.

Jardine says it was an easy decision when they asked him to take part, “They pick a day every year, and you do 24 hour live stream marathons of video games or board games, whatever. They raise money and the money goes directly to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.”
Jardine says the other great part will be meeting the kids, that are called the Champion Ambassadors, “we actually get to sit down with them, and play video games, hear their stories and just have a fun time with the kids.”
Jardine has two young children, and he has been lucky that they have been healthy and they have not needed the IWK’s help, “But I know people who are my age, who 30 years ago the IWK was there for them. The fact that I could do one little part to give back, it was a no-brainer.”
Sending good vibes to @SnaggleJ who’s to #Orlando for #ExtraLifeUnited2017 video gaming tournament to raise $ for the IWK. Go Kris! pic.twitter.com/w5o5YFohQs
