A New Brunswicker is heading to Orlando to play video games in hopes of winning funds for the IWK.
Kris Jardine, a father of two from Miramichi, won the chance to play in a tournament where winners will be awarded donations towards the Children’s Hospital of their choice.
It’s all part of the Extra Life United 2017 gaming competition.
Jardine says he’s in his mid-30’s and grew up playing Super Mario Brothers on the Nintendo.
He says he never thought hours of gaming would lead to such a wonderful and positive experience.
Jardine was chosen from a draw of people who raised at least $250 for the IWK in 2016.
He says the tournament in Orlando will include six video games and six board games with roughly 125 people taking part in the competition.
The top four winners will win money for the Children’s Hospital of their choice.
