$20K Investment From Province Towards Q-League Draft In Saint John

The provincial government has announced a cool $20,000 towards the cost of having this year’s Q-league annual session and entry draft in Saint John a first in the city’s history.

It’s expected that the event will bring about $1.5-million to the city’s economy and bring hundreds of people to the city.

Premier Brian Gallant made this announcement in the Alpine Room of Harbour Station, which is where the draft will take place.

“It’s going to help expose what we have to offer right here in Saint John and in New Brunswick so we have no doubt it’s going to reap many benefits over the years in terms of a tourism boost,” says Gallant.

“And we’re also very excited about what this will do for families. It’s gonna be a great time.”

This will be the first time that Saint John has hosted this event, and the last time it was held in New Brunswick was back in 2009 in Moncton.

The annual session is happening from May 31 to June 1 and the draft is going to be on June 3.

Tonight, the Sea Dogs are back in action looking to take a 3-0 lead in the playoff series against Rimouski.
