In the NFL, Matthew Stafford passed for 361 yards and two touchdowns to Marvin Jones as the Detroit Lions snapped a three game losing streak with a 30-17 win over Green Bay minus quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
General manager Brian Cashman says he decided the New York Yankees should replace Joe Girardi because the manager’s communication with the players wasn’t good enough. Girardi disputes that, saying he thought his relationship with the players was good including catcher Gary Sanchez and reliever Aroldis Chapman despite rumours to the contrary.
